National Wellness Winner

ASDA is the nation’s largest student-run association for dental students. It is the only national association entirely devoted to student concerns and the student viewpoint on professional issues, representing more than 17,000 students attending U.S. dental schools.

At Penn Dental, we aim for active involvement in local, state, and national issues affecting dental students and the profession as a whole. As a dental student, you receive automatic membership into ASDA, and as an ASDA member, you also receive automatic membership into the ADA. This membership allows you to attend the ADA conventions for a discounted rate, receive publications regularly, such as the Journal of American Dental Association, free life insurance with $50,000 of coverage, free disability insurance, discounts on airfare and car rentals, and opportunities for credit card and loan programs. Your $100 membership fee is paid only once each year and we offer $50 off if you sign up for all 4 years at once. Your ASDA/ADA membership is a worthwhile investment in your career. It combines your single voice with those of your professional student colleagues to create a more powerful statement of your views.

District III

Penn ASDA is part of District III Chapters. District III Constituents include: Howard University College of Dentistry, Temple University Kornberg School of Dentistry, University of Maryland Baltimore College of Dental Surgery, University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine and University of Pittsburgh School of Dental Medicine.

Penn ASDA is known as one of the top ASDA chapters in the entire nation and in 2011-2012 we received the District 3 Outstanding Chapter Award. Our local leadership continues to be very strong and includes many official positions that members can apply or run for. In addition to opportunities for national leadership, there are several possibilities for involvement at our local level. We encourage you to get involved!
